Fiona….. Hamamelis x intermedia “Robert”
Hamamelis are deciduous shrubs with fragrant yellow to red flowers borne on the leafless branches in late winter and early spring. Many also have leaves which give good Autumn colour. Best grown in sun or partial shade in moist, well drained, acid or neutral soil.
Robert has stunning coppery orange, slightly crinkly flowers, red at the base and has the bonus of stunning Autumn foliage colour.

Julian….. Daphne bholua Jaqueline Postill
A lovely evergreen shrub which can flower from December through to March. The flowers have an amazing fragrance which can be appreciated from some considerable distance on a still day.
Grow in a sheltered site in moist, well drained soil.
