Lampeter Seed Library
Seed Swap on Saturday 28 February from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Lampeter Market. Please feel free to bring along any saved seeds you have grown locally that you’d like to share.
This year, there are new seeds from the Wales Seed Hub to further increase the genetic diversity of the collection.
Membership in the Seed Library is free, and everyone is welcome.
Drefach Felindre Gardening Club
The Drefach Felindre Club meets at 7:30pm on the first Wednesday of each month in the Red Dragon Hall in Drefach Felindre. Visitors are welcome at a cost of £2 per person that includes refreshments at the end of the evening following the talk and a raffle.
The next talk – ‘Preserving Fruit & Veg‘ by Peni Ediker – is on Wednesday, 4 March. Peni uses biochar, inoculated composts, and biofertilisers to maintain a healthy and productive market garden. She regularly teaches courses in permaculture, sustainable horticulture and biofertiliser production. Peni will be talking about methods of preserving the harvest including fermentation.
Llechryd & District Gardening Club
Llechryd & District Gardening Club welcomes visitors to its meetings and members from other clubs regularly attend. You can see the programme here. The entry charge for visitors to meetings is £3.00 per person, which includes the talk and refreshments. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in Boncath Hall, SA37 0JL.
The next talk – ‘No Dig Gardening‘ with Stephanie Haggerty – is on Wednesday, 11 March.
Stephanie is a garden and food writer, and a leading authority on no dig gardening. In March 2021 she moved to Ceredigion, and started a new productive homestead on just under half an acre, which featured on BBC Gardeners’ World Winter Special.
Gelli Uchaf Garden 14 February to 28 June 2026
This 1½ acre garden complements a C17 Longhouse and 11-acre smallholding. In the garden trees and shrubs are underplanted with thousands of snowdrops, crocus, cyclamen, and daffodils, together with many rhododendrons, skimmias, clematis, rambling roses and hydrangeas. There are several wildflower hay meadows, wildlife ponds, stream and shepherd’s hut to explore beyond the main garden. Admission £6, parking limited.
The garden will only be opening on the following weekends, for either 10.30 am or 2.30 pm arrival times:
March 21st and 22nd
April 11th and 12th
May 16th and 17th
June 20th and 21st
The owners will also be happy to arrange bespoke open days for pre-arranged visits for groups of a minimum of 10, and up to a maximum of 20 visitors, during this same period from February 14th to June 28th.

Ceredigion & District Growers Plant Fairs in West Wales
The Ceredigion and District Growers Association organise an annual diary of Spring/Summer Plant Fairs, mainly in Ceredigion. The next event is the West Wales Plant Fair to be held at Rhosygilwen Mansion, Cardigan, Pembrokeshire, SA43 2TW on Sunday, 26 April 10am-3pm. This is one of the most popular spring plant fairs in West Wales. Lots of specialist nurseries from south and west Wales selling a huge range of plants. View Rhosygilwen’s gardens including the Arboretum, Walled Garden and restored Victorian Glasshouses. Refreshments in the Orangerie. Tombola and free Plant Creche.
Winter Gardening Weekend 2026
Drawing visitors from a wide area, this event offers an opportunity to the novice and the very experienced gardener and grower to start planning for the spring. The free event will take place on Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd February in the Tysul Hall in Llandysul between 10am and 5pm.
Each day of the four-day event, experts will give talks on a variety of growing and gardening topics including everyone’s favourite “Hellebores”. In the Main Hall there will be stands selling a great variety of plants and garden accessories. On the Stage, Farmyard Nurseries, Llandysul’s RHS gold medal winner, will once again create a wonderful display to inspire you for the coming year.
