Llechryd & District Gardening Club
Llechryd & District Gardening Club welcomes visitors to its meetings and members from other clubs regularly attend. You can see the programme here. The entry charge for visitors to meetings is £3.00 per person, which includes the talk and refreshments. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in Boncath Hall, SA37 0JL.
The next talk – ‘Plants I have killed‘ with Paul O’Neill – is on Wednesday, 8 January 2025. A garden of four acres, closely planted with many rare trees, shrubs and perennials open to the public for the NGS, Llwyngarreg continues to develop further, delighting plant lovers with its many rarities. Species Primulas, bamboos with Roscoea, Hedychium, and Salvia extending the season through to riotous autumn colour. Trees and rhododendrons have been underplanted with perennials. The sunken garden for tender/exotic gems and gravel terraces with formal pool continues to mature. Springs form a series of linked ponds across the main garden, providing a colourful bog garden.
Drefach Felindre Gardening Club
Drefach Felindre Gardening Club welcomes visitors to its talks – you can see the programme here. The Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Red Dragon Hall in Drefach Felindre. There is a charge of £2.00 for visitors and that includes the talk by our monthly guest speaker and refreshments at the end of the evening.
At an evening with friends on Wednesday 8 January, Gardening Club members will share their expertise, experiences and knowledge on a range of gardening subjects.
Tender Shoots Garden Club Network Zoom Talks
The Tender Shoots Garden Club Network is a national collective of UK garden clubs set up by a novice gardener (Indy Rana) during Covid so clubs could work together, have joint online events, share tips & advice, as well as trips to see gardens share discounts, plus much more. Gardening talks are held over the autumn and winter months via Zoom. Invidivuals and clubs are very welcome to join in, it’s open to anyone, there’s no charge to attend, see the ‘Programme‘ page for zoom link & further information.

Ceredigion & District Growers Plant Fairs in West Wales
The Ceredigion and District Growers Association organise an annual diary of Spring/Summer Plant Fairs, mainly in Ceredigion. They are always open to suggestions for new venues, so do get in touch with them if you have suggestions. The plant fairs are now over for 2024.
Bronwydd & District Gardening Club
Bronwydd & District Gardening Club meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, February to November at 7.30pm in Bronwydd Village Hall SA33 6BE. Non-members may attend for £2.
Cottage Garden Society Seed-Collecting Visit to Hergest Croft Gardens 20 October
The Wales West Regional Group of the Cottage Garden Society has organised a seed-collecting visit to Hergest Croft Gardens, hosted by Head Gardener Steve Lloyd, for Sunday, 20 October. Put the date in your diary and more details will be available later in the year.

- Tours fees of £7 for members and £8 for all other visitors per tour are in aid of the National Garden Scheme, our partners for Apprenticeship in Botanical Horticulture.

Behind the Scenes Tour | Under the Great Glasshouse
Explore this subterranean level and find out more about how this iconic building is run, maintained and heated. A member of the maintenance team will lead a tour through a myriad of corridors and enter an area which is very different from what visitors see above. Tour starts at the western entrance of the Great Glasshouse.

Explore the nurseries where plants are grown for the Botanic Garden and where rare plants are housed. The Botanic Garden’s nurseries are full of fascinating plants from across the world, this unique tour gives you an insight into how experienced horticulturalists care for these plants. Also, discover the part we play in growing rare Welsh plants and how we safeguard these plants for the future. The tour starts at the Apothecary Hall.

Behind the Scenes Tour | The Science Centre
Learn all about the National Seed Bank of Wales and the efforts being made to save some of Wales’ most threatened flora. Take a look at our molecular lab and gain an insight into the current conservation genetics research. Explore our Herbarium, which houses almost 33,000 pressed plant specimens and hear all about our brand-new National Lottery Heritage Fund project to digitise these collections! Please meet at the Science Centre (No.24 on the Garden map).
